Words are insufficient to capture the uniqueness and vibrancy of a political trailblazer, a visionary leader and progenitor of political and economic prudence in the State of Osun, Chief Adebisi Akande. Your passion and drive that were then regarded complex for the electorate, today remains the standard for measuring your successors. The visionary, passionate, prudent management of the both human and material resources as Governor in Osun is today a critical text for any success-oriented Governor to read.
As a political son, I am proud of the developmental feat of your time. What shall we say about your effort to return efficiency and accountability to the public service; the miraculous construction of an ultra-modern Secretariat Complex for the State despite its meagre revenue at the time; numerous access roads to communal settlements and the visionary Osogbo Circular Road; just to mention a few. These uncelebrated but now appreciated efforts, now form the yardstick for measuring performance in government.
Despite the betrayal and robbery of the 2003 elections, you kept your focus and never lost faith in your service to humanity, little wonder that your integrity and passion for progressive politics set you out among your colleagues to take up the Chairmanship of our great party, a position that has been greatly dignified by your personality and elderly wisdom. Sometimes, I hold a sentimental view, if we had the gift to see ahead of time, you probably should have led our party from the time of its formation, but God is a grand designer and does so for specific purposes.
Thank you Sir, for this noble restoration course of yours and other leaders with the All Progressives Congress APC. We hold solace in your pedigree to expand our political frontier. A historical reflection of the past points to the fact that we have fared better under your able leadership. We have continued to steadily grow in rank and recently in leaps since your acceptance of the Chairmanship of our Party. We strongly believe in the triumph of the All Progressives Congress under your able leadership as this has been your trend over the years.
Happy Birthday to you Sir, our amiable National Chairman, Chief Adebisi Abdul Kareem Akande (Baba Omo Kekeke), a political colossus, an enigmatic pathfinder and a pace setter per-excellence. May Almighty Allah grant you longevity in perfect health to complete your task and enjoy the fruit of your years of progressive political dedication to Nigeria.
