Privacy Notice


This Privacy Notice lets you know how we promise to look after your personal information. This includes what you tell us about yourself, what we learn by having you as a customer, and the choices you give us about what marketing you want us to send you. This notice explains how we do this and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.


Who we are


Trumpet Media Group is a privately owned media organisation targeting audiences associated mainly with Africans in the Diaspora and in the Continent of Africa.

This is done via a number of media channels including Newspapers, Websites, Email Newsletters, Social Media channels and Events.

Trumpet Media Group is the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you, which does not include special types of information known as ‘Sensitive Data’.

The type of information we may hold are your name, email address, and telephone number.
 


Why we need your data


We use your personal data to contact you to provide you with news and information we consider relevant to our target audiences; and inform you of products, services and events relevant to our target audiences. We will only collect data from you in order to meet these ‘legitimate interests’.


What we do with your data


We will hold your data securely. We will not publish or display your personal data anywhere without your specific consent. We will not disclose or sell your data to any third parties whatsoever.


How long we keep your data

We will generally keep your data for an indefinite period so that we can keep you up to date with our news and information. You have the right to unsubscribe or request deletion of your data at any time.

After you stop being a customer/user, we may keep your data for up to 6 years to enable us to respond to any questions or complaints and to show that we treated you fairly.

We may keep your data for longer than 6 years if we cannot delete it for legal, regulatory or technical reasons. We may also keep it for research or statistical purposes. If we do, we will make sure that your privacy is protected and only use it for those purposes.



Your rights

If at any point you believe the information we have on you is incorrect you can request to have it corrected or deleted.

You may also request a copy of your data in a suitable format.
