A drug dealer has been jailed for 26 years for the attempted murder of a woman in East London. Osei Kuffour, 25, shot 36-year old Maria Whalley in her Canning Town home on December 11 2012 - believing she had helped a man rob him.
Whalley regularly brought drugs from Kuffour and on that day, there had been an exchange of words before he shot her with a revolver hand gun from less than a metre away.
The bullet lodged behind her cheekbone, requiring emergency surgery and months of medical treatment for her serious injuries.
Police arrested Kuffour in his car as part of a proactive operation and found a large amount of cash stashed in the foothold of the car and Class A drugs between his buttocks.
Further enquiries saw the recovery of the firearm used in the shooting.
