22nd African Film Awards (AFA) on Nov 3

The 22nd African Film Awards (AFA) - an evening to celebrate excellence among African film stars and the best of Black British film and TV Stars holds in London on Saturday November 3 2018.

The glamorous awards ceremony is the pioneering and most prestigious film industry awards dedicated to rewarding excellence in Nollywood (Africa's fastest growing film industry). It takes place at the Stratford Town Hall, 29 The Broadway Stratford London E15 4BQ starting with a Red Carpet session 5.00pm.

Some deserving individuals who have shown dedication to the economic growth of Africa will be honoured with the 2018 African Voice Leadership Awards, and Special Recognition will also be bestowed on outstanding practitioners from the film industry.

Veteran actress Golda John Abiola, Co-Founder and Event Director of the African Film Awards said, “The impact of the 22 years annual celebration is reverberating across Europe and America, it has helped to build the image of the fledging film industry in Africa. Festivals across the world are incomplete without the representation from practitioners from Africa.”
