From a young age, she has been focused on developing herself professionally and completed stints in CMS Cameron McKenna and Lewisham Law Centre before she had even started University.
During her first year of University, she completed back-to-back internships in Simmons & Simmons and Goldman Sachs. Later in the year, she added Norton Rose Fulbright and Bloomberg internships to her already impressive list of employers. All of this was achieved whilst running her own profitable small enterprise – Societywear – providing branded garments to University societies.
Driven by her passion for youth development and firm belief in education as a tool for elevation, she has been involved in projects that allow her to give back to the young people in her community.
In 2012, she was an integral part of the Mayor of London’s Near Peer scheme and trained as a mentor for children in care. Following this, she became heavily involved with the SEO Scholar’s Mentoring Programme providing in and out of school training and mentoring to talented year 11-13 students from backgrounds traditionally under-represented in employment and higher education.
In appreciation of her achievements, in 2013 she received Powerlist's Future Leaders award, highlighting her as one of the UKs top 100 outstanding black students.
Currently completing a year in industry as part of her degree, she outgrew her role in a prestigious international law firm in just a few months, and has already had her responsibilities extended to match her outstanding abilities and work rate. Outside of the formal work place, she is the youngest member of the management committee for Meridian Money Advice, a service providing free confidential debt and welfare advice for those in the borough of Greenwich. She also shines academically and is well on track to achieve a first class in her law degree. Alongside her second year studies, she was also the Sponsorship Officer for her University’s African-Caribbean Society and the Communications Officer for Brunel’s Law Society - where she led participation in the London Legal Walk 2013 to raise money for law centres.
Besides this, she loves to act and play netball.
With such a strong foundation laid from her strong academic background, enviable network of contacts, sharp business acumen and unquestionable interpersonal skills, Tara Adeagbo is well on her path to realising her ambition of being a partner at a mid-sized City law firm.
