An Architect by profession, he previously worked as Architect/Chief Operating Officer at Jaseal Construction Limited and Aron Construction Nigeria Limited where he served as the On-site Architect for the building of the Ogun State Stadium, Abeokuta. He also worked with Deji Oyenuga & Partners, and was also a Partner at Counterpart Architects.
In 2003, he was appointed as Special Assistant to the Governor on Housing in Lagos State.
The two-term member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Nigeria, representing Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos, was elected and re-elected into Parliament in 2007 and 2011 and served till 2015.

He served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Treaties and Agreements; and also served as the Chairman of the Sub-Committee on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He also at several times, served in different committees including National Security, Petroleum (Upstream), Gas Resources, and Justice.
He championed numerous causes in the National Assembly such as:
1. Payment of adequate compensation for Dana Air crash victims as stipulated in the Montreal convention.
2. Harmful Effects and Regulation of Caffeinated Energy Drinks in Nigeria.
3. Investigation and prosecution of those involved in the brutal 'ALUU' killing of four students of UNIPORT, in which justice was eventually served.
4. Ratification and Domestication of all Treaties entered into by Nigeria - in accordance with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution.
5.Sponsored the House Motion on the need for urgent Intervention and prevention and control of the outbreak of "Bird Flu in Nigeria."
6. The controversial takeover of Intercontinental Bank Plc by Access Bank Plc.
7. A review of all BASA (Bilateral Air Service Agreements) involving Nigeria.
8. The proper use of BASA (Bilateral Air Service Agreements) funds as legally provided for.
9. Review of the Lagos/Ibadan Concession agreement.
He also sponsored several bills in the House of Representatives, some of which are:
1.The Tobacco Control Bill (Now law).
2.The Air Passengers Rights Bill.
3.The Alcohol Content Control Bill.
4.Amendment to the PHCN Act on the Transfer of Liability to Occupiers.
5. On site Aviation Fuel Test Laboratory Bill.
A lover of learning, he attended the Leadership and Decision Making programme (Harvard) and Dynamic Leadership programme (University College London). He is currently enrolled for a Masters degree in Leadership and Management (Northumbria University).
