Africell
Winner collecting his cash prize
Leading Sierra-Leonean telecommunications company, Africell Lintel Limited, has awarded cash prizes of 595 Million Leones to 160 of their subscribers in what’s being described as a “crazy cash promotion”.
The promotion has been on-going since 7th April this year and was expected to end on 4th May. However during the fifth presentation of prizes to winners of the promotion, at the company’s headquarters at Wilberforce in Freetown, the company’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Joe Abass Bangura, announced the decision to extend the promotion by a fortnight - citing the reason as the high level love the company has for its subscribers.
Among the winners were Tejan Bah, a Trader from Lunsar; Mohamed L. Turay, a Carpenter from Kenema; Hawa Kebbie, a Trader from Kono; James K. Kamara, Student from Kambia; Ibrahim Koroma, a Driver from Bo; Ibrahim S. Kamara, a Trader from Mattru Jong; and Kai Bundu Banya, a Trainee Nurse from Segbwema; who have each received 25 million Leones.
Bangura also reminded winners that the Finance Act 2008 states that all Lottery winnings from Le500,000 and above are subjected to 10% Lottery tax.
Nancy L. Joseph also spoke at the presentation reminding hopefuls that to qualify for the daily draw, the Africell subscriber needs to recharge their phone with 100 units. She said this will give them one chance in the daily electronic draw and that every additional 100 units recharged, equals to one more chance. She stated “the more you recharge, the greater your chances to win.”
