Yahya Jammeh relinquishes power
Amidst pressure from Gambian citizens, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the international community - Yahya Jammeh has relinquished power.
In a broadcast on national TV - GRTS, Jammeh said: "I have decided today in good conscience, to relinquish the mantle of leadership of this great nation."
He expressed his gratitude that there was no bloodshed during the impasse.
