Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa - Ogun's Secretary to the State Government
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has approved the immediate reinstatement of the Executive and Legislative arms of Abeokuta South Local Government Area.
The arms were suspended on Wednesday, February 12 following a fracas that broke out in the hallowed Chamber of the Council.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, who disclosed this in a statement gave the names of the affected political office holders as Engr. Lanre Edun (Chairman), Hon. Olusola A. Ekundayo (Vice-Chairman), Ibrahim Adegunle (Secretary), Hon. Wale Azeez (Supervisor, Water Supply/Environment), Hon. Titus Akinwunmi (Supervisor, Works), Hon. Omolaja Bamgboye (Supervisor, Youths, Sports & Com. Dev.) and Hon. Muiz Omitogun (Supervisor, Medical & Health).
Also affected are Hon. Oluwole Joseph (Supervisor, Education), Hon. Idowu Okeowo (Leader of the House), Hon. Afeez Shopeyin, (Deputy Leader), Hon. Soyoye Oyebisi (Deputy Leader) and Hon. Akamo Sunday (Majority Leader).
The reinstated councillors are Hon. Fayemi Mutiu, Hon. Olatunji Oloyede, Hon. Hassan Nureni, Hon. Akinleye Kayode, Hon. Kuyoro Babatunde, Hon. Olayinka Adegun, Hon. Mukaila Adekunle, Balogun Mutiu, Hon. Akintoye Adedayo, Hon. Buhari Diyan, Hon. Sopeyin Afeez and Hon. Mudeeu Ojediran.
"The concerned officials are charged to go about their constitutional duties in the ways and manners expected of them by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and desist from acts that could be injurious to the State’s development agenda.
"It is hoped that they will take the opportunity of their reinstatement to collectively work towards achieving the common goals of their local and State governments so that the electorate, particularly at the grassroots will continue to reap the dividends of democracy", Adeoluwa added.
