The Ogun State Governor - Senator Ibikunle Amosun has urged citizens of the State in the Diaspora to play their part in developing the State.
Speaking at a reception in South East London organised by the United Kingdom and Ireland branches of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun (SIA) Forum and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN); Amosun reiterated his government’s commitment to fulfilling its "Mission to Rebuild," through its five cardinal programmes.
Amosun opined that the need for all hands on deck - including the Diaspora, was borne out of the fact that government alone does not possess all the necessary resources to fulfil all the needs of the State. He added that "there are numerous openings in which you can partner with us for the development of Ogun State."
Amosun spoke extensively, most of the time without the script prepared by his aides, reeling out the giant strides his government is taking towards the development of the State.
An award was presented to the Governor during the event in recognition of his exemplary leadership. The Chairman of the Ogun State Chapter of the ACN in the UK - Otunba Ayo Balogun commended the good works of the Amosun Administration.
The Governor's wife - Mrs Olufunso Amosun, who also attended the reception, expressed appreciation to the organisers and attendees for the love shown to her husband and his team - promising that this will no doubt spur him to put in more energy towards rebuilding the State.
The Governor's entourage included the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry - Otunba Bimbola Ashiru; Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology - Barrister Segun Odubela; Commissioner for Environment - Prince Lanre Tejuoso; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs - Rt. Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo; Special Adviser, Taxation & Revenue - Mr Wale Ogunyomade; Special Adviser, Social Development - Mr Tunde Sanusi; Special Adviser, Research and Documentation - Barrister Leke Adewolu; Senior Special Assistant on Public Private Partnership - Dr. Tunde Sodade; and the Deputy Chief of Staff - Alhaji Salisu Shuaib.
