Chief Mike Oghiadomhe
Chief of Staff to Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan - Chief Michael Ayegbeni Oghiadomhe has resigned.
While a number of online media organisations have reported that Oghiadomhe was forced to resign by Jonathan; the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity - Dr Reuben Abati, said Oghiadomhe resigned to pursue his political ambitions. Oghiadomhe was a former Deputy Governor of Edo State and may be eyeing the Governorship seat.
Oghiadomhe, was born in Fugar, in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State.
He is a 1978 graduate of Soil Science from Nigeria’s premier university - University of Ibadan. He also obtained an MBA degree from University of Benin in 1982.
A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), he was elected Member of Council of NIM in 2006 where he served two terms. He is currently a member of Board of Fellows of the Institute.
He was appointed Deputy Chief of Staff to the Vice President early in June 2007, a post he held till August 2008 when the post was scrapped. He was immediately re-appointed Principal Secretary to the Vice President, a post he held till May 17, 2010 when he was elevated to the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, Commander-in-Chief.
