INEC reaches decision on elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for today to Saturday February 23 2019.
State Governorship and House of Assembly elections will now hold on Saturday March 9.
The announcement was made by Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) - Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

In the midst of ongoing reports of challenges with the delivery of electoral materials to some parts of Nigeria ahead of today's Presidential and National Assembly elections, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) - Prof. Mahmood Yakubu is expected to make an announcement shortly as to whether or not elections will go ahead.

Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman - Rotimi Oyekanmi told journalists that his Principal is currently meeting with the 12 National Electoral Commissioners, but a decision has been reached. He told eager journalists that they will have to wait to 'hear from the horse's mouth.'
