Nigeria Air Force Base, Maiduguri
Nigeria's Borno State government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the State Capital - Maiduguri following an attack by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) - Alhaji Baba Ahmed Jidda, announced the curfew.
The terrorists attacked the Composite Group Air Force Base and the among other places in Maiduguri.
The attack which started at about 3am shook the town as sporadic gunshots and other Rocket Propelled Grenade Launchers fire were heard, with ensuing airstrikes in Maiduguri and Jere metropolis till 8 am.
Eye-witnesses said during the attacks on the Air Force Base, a Police Barracks, and other targets, several people were killed as the terrorists, numbering over 300 planted explosives in targeted areas in the state capital.
Also attacked were, the newly constructed trailer park, along Damaturu-Maiduguri Road, military check points, residential and public buildings.

The phone network has been down in Borno State since the declaration of the State of Emergency.
