Wayne Rooney
Under fire, Manchester United boss David Moyes has admitted that replacing Wayne Rooney at the Old Trafford was impossible; had the striker left the club.
The 28-year-old England international, who recently renewed his contract by penning a new five-and-a-half year deal with the Red devils, netted a superb goal in United's 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And following such outstanding performance, Moyes was quick in saluting Wayne; insisting it would have been impossible to replace the prolific forward - had he left United.
"He's a really important player and you think about the amount of clubs who wanted to sign him. He would have been too difficult to replace. There aren't enough top players out there that you can get cheaply or easily," the former Everton boss said.
"Wayne's one of them, one of the top players. He shows it week in, week out for us and you can see the change in him - his leadership, what he's trying to bring to the team.
"We want him to keep at it and I'm sure he will. He's a boy who wants to continue to get better."
The Red devils will face Olympiakos in a Champions League clash on Tuesday night.
