Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Sweden captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic has provided football fans all over the world with some outrageously entertaining quotes - but his jibe about the 2014 World Cup is worth remembering.
After Sweden lost to Portugal in the World Cup qualification playoff in November 2013, when Cristiano Ronaldo netted a stunning hat-trick to help his country qualify, Ibrahimovic took to his app, 'Zlatan Unplugged', to suggest the competition in Brazil will be uninteresting.
He said: "One thing is for sure, a World Cup without me is nothing to watch so it is not worthwhile to wait for the World Cup.”
And with the World Cup kick-starting today in Brazil, many would argue that the Malmo-born striker will be proved wrong.
However, it suffices to say that the presence of the Paris Saint Germain striker in this summer's tournament would have added more flavour to the competition and make the show more interesting.
Surely, Ibra will be missed!
