Newly recruited New York City FC player, Frank Lampard, has joined Premier League giants - Manchester City - on a six month long loan deal.
The 36-year-old, who ended a 13-year stay with Chelsea to join new MLS outfit on a free transfer in July, secured the loan deal in order to train ahead of New York City FC's inaugural MLS campaign, which starts in March 2015.
Expected to be registered for City's Premier League and Champions League squads, the Chelsea all-time goal scorer looks to maintain full fitness - as MLS preseason friendlies commence in January.
"Joining up with Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to train and play at the top level and make sure I am in top condition for New York City," he told the club' official website.
"This is a new chapter of my career and I'm really excited about the experience.
"I met Manuel and some of the players in New York and I'm looking forward to getting into training and making a contribution for Manchester City ahead of my move over to New York."
City will begin the defense of their League title on August 16 - when the Barclay's Premier League commences.
