Nigerian Premier League side, Enugu Rangers have officially confirmed departure to Brazil of their left-footed winger, Ejike Uzoenyi to Brazil.
The 26-year-old winger is a late replacement for injured AS Monaco left full back, Elderson Echiejile - who strained his hamstring during the international friendly against Greece.
Official of the Coal City side, Foster Chime, have confirmed that the pacy winger trained with the Flying Antelopes on Tuesday morning before he boarded a flight to Lagos en route to the South American state later in the day.
"Uzoenyi trained with his teammates this morning (Tuesday) before he headed off to Lagos for his night flight to Brazil to join his teammates.
"Of course, we're aware of his recall to the Super Eagles after he was initially dropped together with six others from the World Cup-bound team.
"Uzoenyi is going to Brazil to link up with his colleagues for their campaign at the World Cup.
"We're happy with the latest development as well as confident that Uzoenyi won't disappoint at the Mundial," said Chime to Supersport.com.
Super Eagles spokesman, Ben Alaiya confirmed to Supersport.com on Tuesday morning that the petite winger will head straight to Brazil to join his teammates for their World Cup campaign.
"No, Uzoenyi is not coming to meet us in the US. Rather he is expected to head straight to Brazil to rejoin with his teammates.
"We're already getting set for our departure from the US to Brazil," said Alaiya to Supersport.com.
The Nigerian national team arrived in Brazil on Tuesday night ahead of their Group F opening clash against Iran on Monday, June 16.
