Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the Court of St. James’s – H.E. Retired Justice George Adesola Oguntade CFR, CON; has commended the “tremendous progress in Epe,” and urged all to “Let us stand first as Nigerians.”
Oguntade who also holds the traditional chieftaincy title of Asiwaju of Epe, made the remarks when he received the Aladeshonyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo-Noforija Kingdom – H.R.M Oba Babatunde Olaogun Ogunlaja (JP) at the High Commission in London.
The retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria commended the progress in Epe telling the monarch that “I have followed with interest, the progress in your domain.”
Oguntade also commended the great work done in the Epe axis and Lagos State as a whole, by the government of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode (FCA).
In his remarks, Oba Ogunlaja who was accompanied by his amiable and fashionable wife – Olori Taiwo Ogunlaja noted that Oguntade’s appointment as High Commissioner is “a great reward of your steadfastness to our dear country – Nigeria, and your undying pursuit of excellence.”
The monarch was also accompanied by Otunba Samuel Damilola Adegbuyi – a retired Commissioner of Police in Nigeria who is also the Otunba Apesin of Odo Noforija Kingdom. Also in attendance were Executives and members of the Epe Division Descendants Union (EDDU), and friends of Epe including Otunba ‘Femi Adenuga.

The High Commissioner was presented with a bag containing traditional woven material - Aso Oke.
Oba Ogunlaja also listed the numerous achievements of the Ambode government in Epe Division, Eredo Local Development Area and Lagos State, including: “modern road networks and highways; modern hospitals and health care delivery facilities; befitting educational facilities; modern housing estates across Lagos State; and the mass mobilisation and employment of unemployed youths.”
The monarch also commended the “prompt payments of workers’ salaries; prompt payment of pensions; the unparalleled welfare package for traditional rulers and chiefs; and the conducive environment for investment.”
