Showcasing Africa in Barking and Dagenham
The African Showcase comes up in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham on Wednesday 14 August 2013.
This is an outdoor event of 40 market stalls with cultural and artistic representations from 8 participating African Countries; cutting across the continent.
The market promises to have on display the best of African artefacts, Music, Food, Dance and other Cultural Memorabilia. There will also be a drumming workshop, Kente workshop, choreographer, head-gear wrapping seminar, and many other African cultural classes.
According to the event's organiser - Ms Ola Mustapha, "As this is the 10th Year of the AFRICAN SHOWCASE, just as the London 2012 torch travelled through the boroughs of London; we will ignite our light by celebrating in Barking - our very first 'indoor' AFRICAN SHOWCASE Market. The celebration will then move on to illuminate the high streets of other London boroughs."
The event prides itself as "Celebrating Diversity Through Commerce."
