Gikoma bombing
The scene of one of two explosions in Nairobi
Over ten people have been killed while more than 70 remain injured following two explosions in the Gikomba market in Nairobi.
Kenya's National Disaster Operation Centre said homemade bombs caused the explosions and that one person has been arrested. They added that the first explosion occurred in a minibus while the second in the large open-air Gikomba market.
Many are blaming the attacks on al-Shabab, militant Islamist group from Somalia. President Kenyatta vowed to fight "evil" terrorism following the attacks, stating, "All of us around the world must be united to ensure that we are able to fight this particular terror."
The attacks come on the same day that hundreds of British tourists have been evacuated from Mombasa amid warnings of an attack as well as travel agencies stopping all flights to Mombasa till October.
It also comes two days after the UK, France and the U.S. sent warnings to their citizens that there was a high threat of attacks in Kenya.
