Introduction

Trumpet Ghana is our niche section targeting Ghanaians in the Diaspora and in Ghana.

Aside from the fact that from time to time, we report Ghana and Ghanaians in our channels: Newspaper and Website, we started a stand-alone Trumpet Ghana Newspaper in May 2018 to test the market. We call this Phase 1, and are now moving to the next phase.

What will the funds be used for: Phase 2

  • Reinvigorate Trumpet Ghana as a ‘Digital-first’ section on Website, Email Newsletter and Social Media.
  • Publish Trumpet Ghana Newspaper monthly in Print (as a paid-for) and Digital (free). Print to be sold in outlets and via Subscription – from Month 3.
  • Recruit a Marketing Executive for a crowd funding campaign to raise rewarded donations; and subsequent marketing to increase brand awareness.
  • Recruit 1 - 2 freelance Journalists/ (possibly one in UK/Europe, and another in Ghana) to run (and lead) Trumpet Ghana as a Digital-driven publication with emphasis on the Website, Email Newsletter and Social Media. Part of this content (especially evergreen content) will go in the Print Newspaper.
  • Build and remunerate a team of freelance Journalists, Reporters, Correspondents, Columnists, and Editors from which an Editor and Assistant Editor will be recruited within a maximum of 12 months.
  • Recruit Commission-only Advertising Sales Executives / Trumpet Ambassadors to sell advertising and sponsorship in the Newspaper, Website, Email Newsletter, Social Media channels, and Trumpet Ghana Directory of Locations and Events.
  • Recruit Commission-Only Subscription Sales Executives to sell subscriptions for Trumpet Ghana Newspaper.
  • Recruit as part of the Trumpet Ambassadors (Affiliate) Programme (TAP) to sell the Print Newspapers within their network of events and outlets.
  • Remunerate Editor-In-Chief who will give direction and oversee strategy and operations.

Revenue Streams

Our revenue streams include:

  • Newspaper (Print) Outlet Sales.
  • Newspaper (Print) Subscription Sales.
  • Advertising and Sponsorship Revenue.
  • Crowd Funding campaign (Online and Offline).
  • Events (Launch, Networking, Independence, Heroes Recognition)

Based on our rich experience in the media over the last 24 years, we expect to generate enough revenue to return Funders’ monies plus a reward, and have enough to sustain us for the next project phase.
