Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite - Ogun State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure
The Ogun State Government has opened up over 220km of community roads across the 20 Local Government Areas of the State in line with its policy of facilitating and providing an enabling environment for communities and people living in them.
The State's Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure - Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite who made this known in Abeokuta during a media chat, added that the 220 km already done had surpassed the earlier plan of opening up 10km in each of the council areas.
“By opening up and grading over 220km of roads, we have surpassed the initial plan to grade only 200km and the project is still on-going. Let me assure our people that we are still moving and not yet done” Adegbite assured.
He stated that with the development, rural-urban migration would be reduced drastically, just as it would ease transportation of farm produce to the cities. Disclosing that more of such roads would be opened up across the nooks and crannies of the State, the Commissioner restated that the government’s policy on provision of basic social amenities for the people remained unchanged.
