In a congratulatory message to the Governor-elect, the Ogun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United Kingdom through its Chairman - Barrister Dapo Oduwole, noted that though the election was fraught with violence and poor sportsmanship, Abiodun fought doggedly on until he claimed the mandate of the people of Ogun State.

Oduwole noted that the electorate clearly desired a change of direction in the governance and political hegemony of the State, and thanked God "for the victory and extended this to all party leaders, workers and members for individual and joint efforts resulting in getting Prince Abiodun and all APC candidates elected."
He noted that “the UK Chapter worked hard and all did so well to support the Party in Ogun to win the election in the midst of fierce opposition - sometimes from within.”
Abiodun promises to "give Ogun State a focused and qualitative governance and to create the enabling environment for a Public Private Sector Partnership, which is fundamental to the creation of an enduring Economic Development and Individual Prosperity of the people of Ogun State."
The Buhari Osinbajo Strategic Solidarity Movement (BOSS-M) described Abiodun's election "as victory for the ordinary people of Ogun, both at home and in the Diaspora."
BOSS-M's Coordinator - Otunba Adewale Adenaike who had earlier aspired to govern Ogun State, said "Abiodun's victory has ushered in a dawn in Ogun and Nigerian politics."

Adenaike who served as the Ogun State Coordinator of APC's Presidential Aspirants Reconciliation Committee set up to settle differences in the aftermath of the Party's primaries; stated that the outcome of the election was "a manifestation of the wish of the people of Ogun State, majority of which voted for the candidate of their choice who they believe is the best to move the State forward."
Adenaike enjoined "candidates of other political parties who contested the gubernatorial election in the State to put aside partisanship and join hands with Prince Abiodun in the task to deliver the set goals in all spheres of governance.
Politics is over, let the business of governance begin."
