Following representations by Diaspora Chapters of Nigeria's ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the lack of inclusion in the Presidential Campaign Council, the Campaign Council's Diaspora Directorate has been named.
Headed by President Muhammadu Buhari's Senior Special Adviser on Foreign Relations and Diaspora - Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa as Director, she will be assisted by Mr Tony Isama.
The naming of the Diaspora Directorate follows on the heels of the United Kingdom launch of Together Nigeria - an "independent advocacy group" supporting the re-election of Buhari in the forthcoming February 16 Presidential elections. Dabiri-Erewa is the "First Ambassador" of Together Nigeria.
Other members of the Diaspora Directorate drawn from APC Chapters outside Nigeria include: Dr Philip Idaewor, Prof Adesegun Labinjo, Mr Ade Omole, Mr Derrick Agbontien, Yakubu Sulaiman, Uzo Nelson Igbanugo, Dabur Amos Mzahan, Alhaji Lawal Usman and Mr Mobolaji Lewis.
