Terror attack at Federal College of Education Kano
Official figures indicate that 15 people have been killed and another 37 injured in a terror attack in Kano, Northern Nigeria. Police said the dead included two suicide bombers, while most of the injured were students and lecturers.
An explosion followed by sporadic gun shots is believed to have occurred around 2pm at the Federal College of Education, Kano.
Kano State's Police Commissioner - Mr Aderinle Shinaba, said an insurgent carrying an AK47 rifle and explosives was shot and the explosive went off and killed him.President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan commiserated "with citizens and residents of Kano State on the loss of lives sustained today during the attack by terrorists," and sent "sympathies and best wishes for a speedy recovery" to "all those who suffered injuries in the dastardly attack."
