In early January a migrant boat left the northern coast of Somalia bound for Yemen. It carried 106 Ethiopian and Somali migrants who had trekked across large swathes of remote land on foot and by truck to reach the point of embarkation. Read more


The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is continuing to see outflows of refugees from Central African Republic (CAR). Over the last few weeks, UNHCR offices have reported fresh arrivals into Chad, Cameroon, and DR Congo. Read more

5,592 Malian refugees crossed into Niger last week. The refugees, mainly women and children, are from the regions of Kidal and Menaka and travelled by foot or on donkeys. Read more
