Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy has revealed he may need surgery on a "broken" ankle ligament.
The 29 year-old was stretchered off the pitch after he collapsed during Arsenal's 2-2 game against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium last Saturday
And with the possibility of a fractured foot, there were fears the French international could be out of action for at least three months.
But Debuchy has taken to Facebook to clarify the extent of the damage, as he is likely to face a lengthy spell on the sidelines if he requires an operation.
He wrote: "No fracture, but one broken ligament ... I have to wait until Friday in order to know if I must have surgery."
Arsenal will face Aston Villa in their next Premier League match this weekend.
