Women Advancement Forum
The 2013 Women Advancement Forum (WAF-MDG 2013) will be held at the Birchwood Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa from 28 April – 3rd May 2013.
With the theme “Towards the Actualization of the Millennium Development Goals”, the Forum is expected to bring together over 500 women from 6 continents including Africa. Attendance is expected from women from Chambers of Commerce, women entrepreneurs, professional women, women in business, NGOs, women in politics, and wives of public office holders, among many others.
The Conference will include the WAF 2013 General Assembly Resolution Session to prepare a well articulated communiqué for international bodies, which would serve as a reference point for policies affecting women and children.
“The WAF-MDG2013 Conference aims to offer a conducive environment and incredible opportunities for interaction on global issues affecting women and the girl-child by bringing women from all works of life under one roof to network, share experiences and ideas,” says Tshepo Lepheana of ABN GLOBAL EVENTS, the organisers of the Conference.
Participants will also take advantage of the rare opportunity of joining hands with fellow women from around the world on issues of women’s political, economic and social empowerment, including women’s advancement, inspiration and motivation of fellow women in the lead up to the United Nations 2015 Millennium Development Goals.
Lined up over the five day period are a number of activities which include the WAF General Assembly; Business & Social Networking Sessions; and the 2013 WAF-MDG Award Gala Dinner featuring POSITIVE RUNWAY: Global Catwalk Fashion Show.
