Alec Stewart
MoneyGram, a leading global money transfer company, has announced that the former England cricket captain - Alec Stewart will continue to serve as the company’s ambassador for events leading to the company sponsorship of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy 2013.
This year’s games will be taking place at three major cricket grounds, The Oval, Edgbaston and SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff. Stewart will participate in promotional events hosted by MoneyGram, including press conferences, personal appearances and coaching sessions for secondary schools across England.

Stewart, the most capped English cricketer ever, was famous for leading the England cricket team to victory on many occasions. Alec was a right-handed batsman-wicketkeeper with 133 Test appearances. Since retiring from the games, Stewart serves as club ambassador for Surrey County Cricket Club where he played professional cricket and now MoneyGram cricket ambassador.
“Just like these children, I also started out as fan who truly loved cricket,” said Stewart, the former batsman-wicketkeeper. “Through MoneyGram’s contest, I hope to help all the aspiring cricketers have an unforgettable experience. I look forward to the children teaching me a thing or two as well.”
