The global celebration of the Cherubim & Seraphim Church’s Centenary continues with a Grand Finale Thanksgiving Service in London on Saturday September 13 2025.
Organised by Europe-based branches of one of Nigeria’s oldest and most influential African-initiated Christian movements – the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church; the Service holds from 2pm at The Lighthouse, 262 – 274 Camberwell Road, London SE5 0AY.
The Centenary Thanksgiving Service will feature gospel music and worship from the Church’s UK Mass Choir, and keynote messages from religious and civic leaders.
These events will attract the presence of community leaders, dignitaries, faith representatives, and worshippers from across the UK and the international Diaspora.
Centenary C&S
Chair of the UK Centenary Committee - Pastor (Dr.) Richard Fasunloye noted that: “The Cherubim and Seraphim Church has been a spiritual home for generations of African Christians in the UK.”
He added: “This milestone is not only a celebration of our past, but a moment to renew our mission for faith, unity, and social contribution in a multicultural Britain.”
One of the Church’s Youth leaders – Pastor Omololu Fagbore stated that “We envision that the Cherubim & Seraphim Church continues to be a vibrant centre of faith and community for the next century and beyond - serving the needs of our communities with love and compassion.”
Founded in 1925 by St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase in Nigeria, the Church has grown from a small revivalist movement into a global Christian community spanning Africa, Europe, North America, and beyond. The UK has been a central part of this story, with the first branch established in 1965 - making this a dual celebration of both the Church’s Centenary and 60 years of presence in the UK.
