His first business venture took-off in 1989 when he bought a longstanding mini-cab office in the heart of Hackney. He saw the opportunity to acquire and turn around this business in order to save it from liquidation. This gave a lot of existing African drivers the chance to continue with their employment. The business was later sold whilst he moved on to another venture.
After one year of employment with Spicer McColl Estate Agents as a mortgage advisor, he took over the same office when they decided to move to a bigger office and then established his own estate agency, using only a £1,500 start-up fund in 1999. His strength in character and enduring faith in his goals gave birth to the flourishing business entity known as PK Group. PK Group comprises of PK Sales and Lettings, PK Financial Solutions and PK Homes and Properties.
As a regulated real estate agent and Independent Financial Advisor regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for many years, Paul has extensive experience in estate agency, which includes sales, lettings and management of both residential and commercial properties.
He has always been an advocate of the African community in Diaspora taking their share of both economic and political powers in the UK. He has done this by assisting a lot of Africans to secure properties and also becoming landlords with good investment portfolios. He is also passionate about enriching the African community with good knowledge in order to create positive impact on the UK economic sector.
In his quest to serve his community and also to be able to give good and sound advice on Right To Buy, he attended a course on Right To Buy with the Chartered Institute of Housing, knowing fully that the easiest way to acquire property for Africans is through the Right To Buy Scheme since many are council tenants. He has successfully administered, advised and assisted a lot of Africans in the Diaspora to acquire their properties through this scheme.
An astute entrepreneur, he is keen to ensure that his group of business stays at the forefront defying all odds and competing with his peers despite the hostile business climate for Africans to do business in the United Kingdom.
He recorded an outstanding success story when one of his companies (PK Properties) got an instruction with one of the major developers in the UK as a sole agent to sell a massive development in Shoreditch, London.
He is an accomplished serial entrepreneur with a proven track record evident in the various awards he has received from prominent UK regulatory bodies and institutions such as, The Chartered Insurance Institute, Institute of Financial Services, National Association of Estate Agents UK, to name a few.
He has also been active in Nigeria where he is a member of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) and was elected as the Chairman of Oba Adeyinka Oyekan Estate, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, between April 2008 and April 2010.
He introduced an Affordable Housing Scheme to Ogun State Government, as a result signed an MOU to develop 100 units of Housing on the scheme in 2011.
