Yemi Soile
Youth Development
Yemi Soile is the Founder and Head Co-ordinator of Nigerian Students’ Union UK (NSUUK). He is also the Founder and Head of the Steering Committee of Nigerian Youth in Diaspora Organisation. He is the C.E.O of Nigerian Youth Television, a media outfit dedicated towards giving a voice to Nigerian youth and showcasing their achievements to the world.
He is a public speaker, entrepreneur, youth empowerment advocate, and youth ambassador for Africa.
He is one of the Project leaders of the Commonwealth Africa Initiative, a Pan Commonwealth organisation with a mandate to promote the interest of the African bloc of the Commonwealth of Nations and foster more opportunities for Commonwealth Citizens from Africa.
Yemi was Vice President of Team Nigeria UK and Pathway Sports from 2012 to 2016, where he helped develop and initiate projects that used sports as a tool to engage young people and dissuade them from social vices such as gangs and radicalisation.

He sees himself as ‘A Leader of Tomorrow in Action Today’ and enjoys mobilising young people to act on social problems.
Yemi attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Politics and Business from the University of Greenwich London, and an Advanced Diploma in Administrative Management from the Institute of Administrative Management (IAM), UK. In October 2019, Yemi graduated with a Master’s degree in International Project Management from Anglia Ruskin University.
While studying for his Undergraduate degree, Yemi was elected President of the Nigerian Students’ Society for 2 years and worked with the Students’ Union at the same time.
With dedication and hard work, the Nigerian Students’ Society won the best student-run club award, organised by the University of Greenwich.
Yemi headed the campaign team that ensured a fellow Nigerian student (Benson Adeeso) became the first ever black student in the history of the University, to be elected as Students’ Union President, by a record landslide victory.
Yemi was elected to serve as Assistant Secretary and youth representative with the Central Association of Nigerians in the UK (CANUK) from 2009 - 2011.
In June 2014, Yemi was named and awarded as one of the 100 most outstanding Nigerians in the UK from 1914 – 2014 at the Nigerian Centenary Awards UK.
In January 2015, he was appointed the Diaspora Coordinator for “Face of Agriculture Africa” an initiative birthed by a group of young dynamic Nigerians to transform the role and impact of Agriculture in Africa while creating an enviable niche for the agricultural disciplines.
In July 2015, Yemi together with his Team Nigeria UK management colleagues travelled to Abuja with 22 teenage British of Nigerian descent footballers for trials with the Nigerian national youth football team (Golden Eaglets). This was in partnership with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and in line with the organisation’s goal to create a platform for young Nigerians in the UK who wished to represent Nigeria in sports. Two of the teenagers were picked and later that year, the Golden Eaglets went on to win the Under 17 World Cup in Chile.
In December 2015, Yemi won the ‘Nigerian Youth Achiever of the Year award UK’ at the Inaugural CANUK Awards Dinner and Dance event.
Following this achievement, he was appointed in May 2016 by the Central Association of Nigerians in the UK as its Youth Committee Chairman, so as to implement its vision of empowering and engaging more Nigerian youth in the UK. He served in this role until May 2017.
In March 2018, Yemi was appointed to the Advisory Board of his alma mater’s (University of Greenwich) Black Asian Minority Ethnic group (BAME) network.
In June 2018, Yemi and his team of forward thinking young Nigerians launched the Nigerian Youth in Diaspora Organisation (NYIDO) at the prestigious Imperial College London.
Through NYIDO, Yemi and his team launched the first ever Nigerian Youth in Diaspora UK Awards held last October.
In September 2019, under the platform of NYIDO, Yemi launched an initiative called project 50:50, which aims to link 50 young people with 50 opportunities at a time.
In Yemi’s words to younger folks, “It is okay to fail but don’t let your setback cause you to sit back, prepare for your comeback.”
