Chairman of Nigeria Professional League club - Giwa FC, Christopher Giwa has emerged the new president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), following an election at the NFF headquarters in Abuja this week.
Giwa polled 27 votes to defeat his fellow contestant, former vice president - Mike Umeh, who got two votes in an election where 29 out of 44 members participated in the voting exercise.
Before the elections, It was reported that NFF chieftains including President Aminu Maigari and General Secretary, Musa Adamu, were arrested by the Department of State Security Services (DSS) and interrogated.
The newly elected officials have been sworn in by a Notary Public - Frank Ike Chude.
